Noice,

I didnt realise untill the guy at British Motor Heritage told me, the hole in the bulk head (the one the carb plate covers) and the hole in seat back are there because they used to put the shell on a spit, when they dipped them for paint.

Late cars dont have the seat back hole though. or at least mine didnt.

I thought they would be something to do with spits.

Looking good mate. The seats look like a tight fit.

Got an airfilter on it yet?!

yes bought an air filter for it yesterday. Also treated it to some new rear window seals. Thinking of getting some competition solid engine mounts. What do people think to them?

Not at the moment but check out the SC site:

Why is it you were looking at solid engine mounts? I needed my engine forward a bit so I have adjustable steadys but it's a road car so I didn't want it solid mounted. I would say with the rose joint it will transmit a lot of noise/vibration but there won't be a need for solid engine mounts.

finally i more or less finished the inside. i just have to spray the rest of my home made seat mounts and fit them to the seat then stick them in the car. i also fitted fixed rear windows as i never liked the opening ones. what you lot reckon to the car now? heres a few pics.

looks good mate! how's it running now with the smaller charger pulley? What boost is it at now?

Having seen a vid of your car on the dyno, I'd say engine mounts are a great idea!

I've got standard rubber mounts on mine, with all the standard steadies poly bushed, as well as an ultimate head steady and lower LH gearbox steady both poly bushed. My engine is really solid, and doesn't jump out of gear at all with my KAD internal linkage.

I personally don't like the idea of totally solid mounting the engine, it just sounds wrong!

yeh i have made a custom mount for the side of the engine that works good with poly bushes aswell.

yeh smaller boost pulley is great running 10 psi with that. runs better with that than the 8psi pulley imo
