With the leads

1+4 = 31

2+3 = 31

You should also get about 0.7 Ohms between the centre pin and either of the outer pins on the 3 pin socket of the coil.

Sound slike your EDIS module may be the culprit though.

Come round and get my edis module, see if that works while there is still light, asshole.

Thanks paul.

Yeah im getting 0.08 across either of the pins and the centre 12v pin.

Hmmm edis module eh, does the description I gave of the pip/saw under cranking sound about right?

0.08 Ohms is too low.

I now suspect the coil.

Rich has just left my house with my edis module, unfortunatly my coil has a different connector to his so he cant check that.

Haha, I plugged the edis in and was looking at the megajolt software when my hand turned the key over crank, me not paying attention it instantly fired into life!!!

Crapped myself, partly with joy and fear :):)

It sounds lovely and idles really well considering ive barely touched the carb settings since I rebuilt it.

Might sound soppy but i'd like to thank everyone for their help over the past 4 years (been building it since I was 18!!), and i've waited to hear it running ever since I started stripping the standard engine down, so thanks alot!!!

I'm beaming, fired it up twice but didnt run it very long, need some antifreeze and to hook up the choke so I can bed the cam in tomorrow.

Awwwesome.

I did haha, my keyboard is soaked with tears of joy.

I was tempted to say "i'd like to thank my family and friends for making this possible, and to little timmy who sadly didnt make it to see this happen".

But that would have been a lie, i've never known anyone called timmy you see.

I'm seriously happy though, cant help think its a shame my edis module wasnt working in the first place, then id have had instant oil pressure and it would have started instantly aswell.

Ahh well i'm just relieved now after two days of farting around with it.

Will get some water in it tomorrow and the choke connected, get some videos of it starting after that.

I wasn't expecting it to start, wast such a shock haha.

Thanks again guys.

Good work, it is always a nice feeling when a new engine fires up for the first time, as it goes today has been a good day for it as I've started up my new 205 turbo engine for the first time too.
