Use photobucket or imageshack etc.

Keeps less pictures sitting around on the site also

Sounds like progress Oli. Use photobucket then you can creat an account with them and login to see all your uploads. With image shack you cant go back and see what you have uploaded.

Rightio, i'll make one later on this evening... then it also saves you lot having to always click them and wait for them to load up.

Well after more cutting and rust removal this afternoon, im feeling pretty low.

Because of a previous owner making such a fucking bodge job, i know need the following panels: an extended door step, e.g goes all the way to the wheel arche, and a pocket base.

And because im skint and the moment it looks like i have another mini, sat doing shit all.

I'll try and put some pictures up later on.

Rant over.

Unfortunately not, as the the pocket base is a really funny shape, and im not skilled enough to make somthing like that.

There's no way im going to bodge it, as that just creates problems later on, im going to do it properly as that the only way i know lol.

Always better not to bodge it. Get the best fitting panels you can and fit them well. In the long run you will end up with a better car and the comfort that it is done properly.

Yeah lol, its not a hard job really, just time consuming... something always stops progress.

Christ! good on you for just getting on and sorting it. at least then its solid.

You're doing a great job. Always best to rip out all the bad stuff to at least 1/2 inch of sound metal. You cant weld rust it spits like hell !!! And avoid braze, the welder won't like that either.

Let me know if you want me to pop over. I'm happy to if you want some advice.

I'll be cracking on with it again over the weekend. Got some more metal to remove and clean, and other little fiddly jobs to do, so hopefully after those bits have been done, i may be able to crack on with some welding.

Well Good News, i managed to find some pennies, and went over to somerford minis and brought my other two panels.... now i have no excuse not to crack on!

This panel looks handy, where did you get it from?

I got it from somerford minis Paul, available with 4 or 6 flutes depending on the year obviously. Its a non genuine panel, but its well made, and it seems to fit nicely when i offered it up.

And somerford use them on their restorations, so they cant be that bad lol.

Part number begins; REPAN. If you put that into their seach box and scroll down to the bottom you'll find them.

Work has stopped for today though as its raining, and as its outside, i cant get any tools out.

But first thing tomorow, weather permitting, work will continue. Hopefully have all the metal cleaned up, the old doorstep cut out and the new one tacked in place.

More good news, I just bought some half leather recaro seats! Heavy i know, but comforts what this mini is all about.

I'll get some pictures up when i pick them up.
