Sealing is not really the issue with SUs. Even in standard form they're pretty well sealed. The problem is getting the required differential in pressure between the fuel in the float bowl and the charge.

With the HIF it's done with the plenum restrictor. Someone on here used a pitot tube iirc to get the same effect without the plenum. EDIT: here you go http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=272999

The other way is to take the float bowl presurisation 'signal' from before the IC etc, where the pressure is higher by the required amount.

I've been thinking of the whole twin carb turbo thing for a little while and I really like the idea even just to be a little different. I can see it getting abit complicted though and wheter its worth it from a performnce Point of view who knows although I doubt it. But I haves feeling that's not what this is about so do it!!

I'm sure you've got the skill to pull it off!

What if the pipes are oval section rather than round? As long as it has the same volume as round, will it affect anything?

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Are they internals of a SU that different to a HIF? I'm sure a lot of the seals would be interchangable...

Not looking at the back of the car, Im just thinking of hiding it all under the wings with a charge cooler so I can keep a MK1 looking engine bay and make my own plenum that looks like a standard tin air filter.

I like your way of thinking. In aluminium of course *wink*

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
