A billet 5 port is top on my wish list for the miglia but i might have to make do with the cast alloy one that med do.

I cant see thats any better than a ported iron head tbh

I seriously doubt it!

Not sure what the ports of valve centres are like. But a good casting all the same.

Apparently, Pierce Manifold just made a new 7 port alloy head...

Well my theory behind it was that it should allow us to run more boost on the same CR as a normal head without getting detonation and also it weights less

I thought that weight would have been at the forefront of your mind paul *wink*

was just skim reading soz if this seems a stupid question but i think i saw that a manifold would be made for bike carbs? do bike carbs take boost, could be a real interesting development forward. for the right price of course.

I wasnt thinking of weight, I already have too little weight over the front, hence my 60 ft times being 1/4 second off compared to 4 years ago. Im going faster than 4 years ago so will at some point fit slicks to get that 1/4 second back but want some more power to go with it

I seriously doubt it!

Bike carbs can be made to take boost, you have to pressurise both sides of the diaphragm to equalise the pressure.

As for tuning it, not sure how easy that would be?

Why would you want to put carbs on a 7 port. Get some bike throttle bodies and a megasquirt, job done.

I have to say I am very interested in this head. 7 port heads are a triumph of engineering imo. They solve lots of problems with the a-series in a mini and don't create any more work, perfect.

Is it going to have 'built in' injector bosses?

We see both sides of the argument but favour FI as the primary route but if peeps want carbs we'd rather it be some modern bike carbs than the default Weber's - hence offering the adapter option, it maybe we offer the bike caebs rejetted as necessary with the storm ignition kit as a bundle - we'll see.

Matty - injectors are in the head just behind the induction mounting face.

oooooooooooh.

Injector bosses in the head itself surely make the construction of a plenum with a single throttle body on one end a much more simple prospect?

This sounds like an incredibly interesting setup. certainly something I'd consider as a future upgrade to my ever evolving supercharger plans!

Will there be an option for a dry deck version John?

GSXR600 K1-2 TBAs would be a nice for spacing. Cheap to buy on Ebay too and dead easy to squirt. On my KAD head the 600's line up more or less spot on without having to touch the spacing....although they can be easily separated if necessary.

Standard injectors are 239cc and I think the barrels are 42mm tapered to 38mm....which means they would probably taper nicely into 36mm with a manifold to interface to.

Pic of the throttle bodies for the 7 port, 36mm "shaftless" direct to head.

Im finding this thread really really intresting and this could offer a longterm solution to using the m45 on the a-series.

John I have one of the typical vmax setups where the charger sits on the inlet manifold. o you see any reason why i couldnt use the seven port head, leave the charger where it is and then run the inlet pipe to the front of the engine via an intercooler this time!

Only prob is that its an mpi so would this head work with the rad at the front still and the alternator in the mpi position?

Thanks
Andy
