Some more pictures today.

I took this picture to try and show the mod neccessary to the alternator tensioner bracket. In the standard place it fouls the sensor bracket, but the simple solution is to reverse it so it fits the other way round to the normal arrangement, so the slotted part sits at the alternator end. In order to do this you will need to drill the hole out to 3/8" in order for it to fit on the bolt on the front plate. At the alternator end you have 2 choices, either drill the alternator hole to 3/8" (as I did) or use a 5/16" bolt and some penny washers to clamp it up. I personally think that drilling to 3/8" is the far better solution but each to their own.

This shows the bracket mounted on the timing cover, the middle bolt is just pushed through loosely. The brackets are made deliberately short, so you have to shim them out to the correct position for your sensor to read your pulley. The sensor is then shimmed for depth to give correct clearance between sensor tip and pulley teeth. The belt looks a lot closer to the bracket in the picture than it is in reality.

Yes, in actual fact I had an enquiry from someone else about doing a Cooper S type bolt-on damper, and so from the dimensions he supplied, I have drawn it up on CAD, and worked out the cutter size needed, so am all ready to do one if required.

UPDATE-

I know a few of you are interested in the crank sensor brackets, I am having made at the moment a batch of 10 of these. They will fingers crossed be ready within 2 weeks.

Price £35/each inc postage to UK addresses......

There are a few people who have shown interest, if they would like to confirm this with myself I will start a list reserving brackets for specific people, otherwise it will be first come first served.

Note that these are to suit the A+ type timing chain cover, holding a Ford EDIS crank sensor, used with a Spannerbitch Racing pulley. You may be able to get the bracket to work with other types of trigger wheel but this is up to you to sort out.

The brackets are made so that some shimming will be required in order to line up the sensor correctly with the trigger wheel, and to set the air gap between sensor and wheel.

PS, forgot to add, these brackets are TIG welded stainless steel, not mild steel as the prototypes were.

I prefer cheques to be honest due to PayPal's charges to me for receiving funds. You can use PayPal if you want but you will have to add 5% to the total to cover their charges.

Pulleys and Brackets are both £35/each, these prices include postage already.

Crank Sensor Brackets

Right then, I know I have been crap with these, but what with one thing and another, including me moving house and rolling the 205, and the subsequent reshelling of the 205, both myself and Phil who machines the brackets have been bloody busy in the last couple of months.

A few people have now had brackets and I am now happy that they fit properly and work well, so I am now offering them for general sale.

Please note that these are made in spare time by Phil, so please don't expect a rapid turnaround on them, allow up to 6 weeks for delivery please but we will do our utmost to get them to you more quickly than this. He is also away in France for 2 weeks, so I am accepting orders now so that there are some waiting to be done when he arrives back.

PM me to order please......

Tom

Dont bother with trying to get pulleys from ebay member snnoker147, they guy hasn't a clue. Hes moved premises and aparently thrown a load of gear out. Took him WEEKS to sort out the one i have, collected it today, along with another MPI block again which he had no clue( thought it was an auto and listed as half engine, it didnt have a crank, was used and one of the bores was full of water, Doh, not a clue) Nice bloke though.

Any way heres piccies of the pulley. IS it possible to machine this. My thoughts are that its not, due to the small area and also the ballance drillings close to its perimeter, which before anyone suggests it, these holes are not equally spaced and theres not enough in a quarter of whats been drilled.

I intend to use either a proprietry kit from KAD or Specialist Components or fudge one together my self

Unfortunately it looks like "NOT" is the answer to this question.

I think it would be possible to machine the shoulder down slightly, and then shrink fit a laser cut wheel onto the pulley, and then use one of my brackets though.

on the pressed trigger wheels, the internal hole diameter is about 94mm, the inside diameter of teeth is about 160mm and theyre about 10mm long, the material is about 1.5 to 2mm thick.

Mine measures 105mm. I was thinking along the same lines, there is a 5.175" OD, 4" bore shrink fit trigger wheel on www.trigger-wheels.com that would fit with a bit of machining either to the wheel bore or the pulley shoulder.

Tom,

I'm in need of a bracket.
