I work for a massive company that employs thousands, so naturally there are a few self centred, arogant wan*ers but in general most are decent people. Same goes with the police force, theres bound to be a fair share of n*b heads, especially those that are trying to work there way to the top and produce a ticket for anything they can. I can certainly sympathise with alex as ive been in a similar situation before. -MINI CLUBMAN 1380 TURBO- |

up north police get done for speeding all the time (even though parliamentary power makes officers exempt ie they can speed if it involves their duty) if that lad was traffic cop, and is deemed "profesional driver" to class 1 he has to maintain standards by keeping "his eye" in how else is he meant to maintain the safe skills he has. as i recall at the time of the offence it was like 0330hrs ? no one on the road and he was testing a new police vehicle. (as response drivers they need to know the limits of their machines) the papers normally tell bull shit to start up a nice little shit storm for the police. i have not read the article totally but iam sure the car suffered a blow out or some technical issue with the car (this is backed up by the black box within the vehicle, not coppers bullshit) and he crashed it ? good job it was at that time and before he was chasing a rapist etc through traffic at rush hour ?

iam not going to insult your driving capability by entering into an argument because u and i were not there, i am also privvy to the real facts of the incident, you however are not ! you have been lead by a newspaper article which has alas done its job in tainting your views.... your info about speeds etc is noted however unless you know how to drive to police system which is way way way way way above and beyond any civil qualification, and the skill level is painfully tough then i would not pass comment ! there is always a risk in any journey that exceeds 20mph, 90 % of collisions that occur at speeds over 60mph end with fatalities....... and yes we do chase rapists peadophiles and worse !!! we dont want the scraots to go and hurt anyone else...however within Northumbria we run on the moto " no emergency is so great as to cause an accident" i would like you to list all the articles you have involving police RTC`s (where a skilled traffic officer is to blame ie he has ran someone over) you will find perhaps 1 over a 10 year period.. in any force area (not overall nation wide). you will however find countless (panda drivers) normally getting involved in a chase (which they should not) and they end up pushing the other driver too hard and that driver plows someone down....granted there have been many panda drivers who are reckless !!! and are to blame..these drivers are normally prosecuted to bits and fired. Up north police officers are prosecuted on daily basis for speeding the news dont hear about these as they wont get the publics levels of hatred rasied :):):)
