Keep it up buddy! I need to crack on with mine tbh. Its was a bad idea putting the TV in the corner of the garage. I just keep watching american chopper and mythbusters all day.

Progressing nicely..:)

At least the balls up with the fan gives you an excuse to replace it with a plastic one. I used to have a metal one, nothing but a wanky PITA to be honest!!

One word - Nice:)

There is something very nice about a freshly painted shell, It seems to make the project feel like it goes from no where near completion, to nearly finished.

Bet you're gonna be working on it double time when you get it back from Mick!

You definitely need it running in some capacity for Mini's VS Beetles!

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Well, thought it was about time i updated, this is as far as i have got, not much more to do now, just
lighting
fit seats
fix dash
carpets
remove turbo, again, and fix blowing elbow.
fit gearstick and remote.
remove exhaust and hang properly
getting there , but i'm a little concerned about the wheels being too proud of the arches, whats everyones opinion?.

Had this on the road for a quick test, runs like a bag of s^&t, revs up but dies when the clutch is out, needs a serious tune up.

In the garage......again!!

well what a day, firstly, we had a problem with the distributor not giving any vac advance whatsoever so Rob gave it a static timing figure just so he could carry on without it being a wasted day, next problem was the BOV not holding its seat even on tickover so we disconnected that, biggest thing is the engine is taking a shitload of air into it, the mixture is as high as it could go even with a bit of needle profile, theres no manifold leaks or pipe leaks anywhere, really puzzled us both this one, couldnt find out what it was so a carb stripdown is inevitable now. Rob ran it to 5k on the rollers, gave it 5psi of boost and felt real strong, although we didn't run it for a power figure, so, its off to RACE for a bit of fettling with the dizzy and carb is getting its poppet valve sealed off just in case that was the problem, Jim will give it the once over as well. So, not too disappointed, it runs real sweet up to 3k which should be enough for me to get some miles on it, and most of all, its emissions are ok for an MOT.

Rob and a customer looking a bit puzzled there.
