ok, been reading this with interest, i'm just about ready to cut the bulkhead for the turbo box. Got the Avonbar box but the diagram is really crap that came with it. Anyone got any measurements for where to start the chop, ie, how far from the two holes for the master cylinders, how far down etc.

As for how far down, the box is shaped so that it will sit in one place only. Theres a lip on the left of the box that sits up flush under the main cross section of the bulkhead.

I bought a turbo box from Avonbar some time ago but only just got round to building the car. It came with the main box plus a separate blanking plate for the nearside end of the box. I couldn't work out how on earth that plate should be fitted. It just didn't seem big enough. So using the pictures here, I think I've got it roughly right. Here are some pictures. I am slightly worried there's too much bulkhead left. Perhaps someone could give me their oppinion. As you can see, I've had to add an extra triangle of metal to bridge the gap between the plate and the box and I'll have to fill in the old heater hose hole.

I cut my cross member out all th way to the brace on the near side. That gave me the extra space for the induction pipe. It also looks like my box is slightly wider than yours. Own the day

I see on the Avonbar website that they recommend moving the engine forward half an inch. I assume this will help clearance at this point too. |

Do you need the engine out to fit a box?

I think it would be a bit too cramped to weld properly. |
