Hi all,
This is the only place i can fit my intercooler,
Which will replace my catch can.
As you can see there is a hole which will help the cool air to go through the intercooler

there will be heat coming from the front, as I have the rad at the front. so would the intercooler be ok here then?
I know your say i have loads of room as it's a clubman.
but the way the design is, this is the only place :)

Cheers lads.

I would thought that you wont a great air flow over the core mounted like that, unless you duct air to it, I mounted mine this way,

Is this an option for you?

if im not mistaken that is a clubby front end, cant you get new endcaps made and place it infront of your rad?? clubmans have quite a large nose :)

drop your radiator down so it sits on the subframe then fit a cossie IC under the slam panel, JD.

(this was while we were mocking up, mpi rad turned out to be goosed so i fitted my metro one instead)

i have my oil cooler where you're planning to put your IC and it doesn't get a lot of flow if any past it tbh. I am planning on putting in a duct from under the headlight to it though, but then that means ditching the sidelight/indicator unit and finding a smaller indicator.

Hi,
Put a Cossie cooler across the front, If I had a clubby front end that's what I'd be doing!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

This is my engine bay.
I have a metro rad at the front with a fan. lowering the rad wont work coz of the way it's all designed.
as you can see on the right, that's were the water goes in for the rad.*tongue*
on the left is were the catch can is, that's were i can only put the IC.
spose i could run large duct air to it, running from the front of the car under the wheel arch.
But doing that, would that get enough airflow.
Cheers.

Just a thought,

could you move the air filter and put the intercooler where the side rad would have been?

Good idea Joe. That side is just filled with excess hose from what I can see.

If not, the cossie ic has been tried and tested with great results!

In the 13's at last!.. Just

I dont understand why this is so much more difficult with your car than with everybody elses? You may have to to some alterations on the parts already there to get a decent place to mount the IC.

If you moved your coil I would think where Shane has put his would be ideal? *oh well*

I dont think you would have to move it far to achieve the room needed, I think you could leave the bracket where it is, and just slide the coil over a touch? I was supprised hw well the IC fit whare I have it, its a little tight as Ive hidden the coilpack behind it, and a washer bottle still there, but in a clubby I think you would be left with loads of room?
Or as you have a little more room than I do, try an R5 gt item on the side?

Coz like i said, the design is alot different.
You can't see from the pictures, only in person.

Cant, because i have a metro rad at the front.
So there be to much heat. and i cant lover the rad. not an option. and it's a clubman front.

So would it be ok if i run a duct air to it ?

lol cheers

designs need to be rethought when incorporating new elements,

there is no such thing as can't,

Ok is a measure of what you find acceptable,

your priority should be getting the intercooler in a cold stream of air, as the radiator can/will heat up the intercooler reducing its effectiveness,

you can run a duct to the intercooler but it is not optimum, acording to Corkey Bell the inlet of the duct should be 1/3 of the area of the intercooler core.

You should be able to fit a Cossy IC a Metty rad in the front of a Clubby, I managed it although my install is not as tidy as yours:

http://www.putfile.com/album/84208

Alternatively if you are truly stuck what about fitting a charge cooler on the side of the engine bay? and putting the second rad in front of your main rad or under the rear subframe.

If you click on the link there should be a whole host of piccys, I'm not sure if the flip front gave me any more space, but I certainly made it a challenge.

tbh I would have thoght it would be farly easy to drop the rad fown a few inches to give room for a clloer as its onlyr 2 pipes to adjust,

but I cantr see your install,

shit, can you tell i've been drinking lol
