Has anyone on here done any of the work that David Vizard mentions in the tuning the a series book such as grinding bits away to make a smoother flow and a few other bits and bobs that he mentions?

Did you find it made much difference and is it worth it for a turbo carb?

Thanks (if there was a topic already about this then I did try searching for it but found nothing)

most just carry out mods as per this post. dont believe the cutting and grinding mods will give much at all on a turbo.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

in short....................

forget this as the turbo just bangs the air in

one mod worth doing is removing and fitting a new butterfly the one with out the none return valve in

iain on this forum sells these as a full rebuild carb kit, pm iain

I'd agree, the mods work well on NA cars, but are of minimal benefit on a turbo.

Still I guess every little helps if you have time on your hands.

does the t-piece trick use the by-pass hose or should it just be welded up?

Also could somebody tell me for the air filter is it worth spending a lot on say a pipercross viper (ebay probably) or to just get a KN or similar?

What is the reasoning for the manufacturers listing various air filter for different cars can you not just get the air filter from say a 1.4 peugeot and use it on a mini?

Surely the carburettor or fuel injection system can then sort the air/fuel mixture out itself?

(please excuse my ignorance if this is not possible!)
