http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=2995

so know the pin outs but what wires from my loom go where? i have a big solid brown that i presume is the one goes to the lug then i have a thin brown with yellow strip and a thin brown with blue stripe

any help is appriciated as ive sliced up a finger real bad, even have blood splatters up my face, by the time i get back from being stitched up its going to be quite late so dont have much time to go though the wiring diagrams

cheers

This brown/blue wire in your loom is a new one on me, I have only ever come across a pair of large thick brown ones that go to the high current output, and the small brown/yellow signal wire.

Ive go hold of a Daewoo matiz alternator, just wondering if anyone has tried one?

Does the circuit work by having 12v at one side of the charge light 0v at the other (going to the alternator) when the alternator turns at a set speed it produces 12v on that pin making the light turn off?

just need to make sure cause i always get confused on how it works?

it looks like the two thick wires could go to the main 'lug' and the one with the yellow stripe go to one of the two little pins?

not sure what the other would be for though! Lol[img]http://www.turbominis.co.uk/index.php?p=20&id=2581

Hi,
OK...
Alternator term .......... Wire on Mini loom

Big bolt ........... Brown wire(Thick one or two) Battery feed
L .......... Brown with yellow stripe (goes to W/L)
I or (IGN) This needs an ignition feed.....

Which is not there in the Mini loom. You need to power this from the fuse box (green wire) or the coil is nearer as long as it IS a 12V feed.
I've not seen the Brown and blue wire either, maybe someone can test it and let us know........

If you can post up a clear close up of the 2 pin socket on the Matiz alternator, I'll work that out for you too.....
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Hi,
If it works, it's right! You should have about 14V at the battery....
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Usually overcharges the battery and fries it eventually - check the voltage when engine running etc

This is the Daewoo plug close up, i tried taking it apart to have a look at the internals to figure out the wiring, but the casing was all seized together.

Ive had a go at the wiring and it seems to be working! *happy*

Ive wired the 2 thick browns wires onto the large screw terminal (A), and the brown and yellow wire to pin (B).

I seem to be getting 14.5V at the battery and 12.9V when the engine is not running. I thought this semmed a little high (14.5v)as the battery is almost fully charged?

Could that spare pin © be used for some kind of voltage regulation, as i dont want to fry my battery?
