Results of Goodmans POS CD Discman + Hammer

I like to listen to music, so I have a setup to allow me to listen whilst working in the garage.

Originally it was an Aiwa System whatsit that I was given, then the CD part packed in.

Now the radio is generally OK for the most part, but in the evenings which is the time I work in the garage most, it usually either degenerates into mindless "discussion" or music that my mother would describe as "noise" and these days sadly I tend to agree. So just having a radio pissed me off somewhat, until I had the cunning idea of rigging up my old cheapo discman to play cds via a cable purchased from ebay!

So all went well for a couple of months, until recently said CD player has started playing silly buggers. A blast with the airline recently helped matters but this week it has really started acting up, refusing even to play good CD's that I know full well play properly.

This evening whilst undergoing a pretty tricky bit of Peugeot wiring loom modification, it was skipping and jumping until I lost my temper.

Can't see the CD, so you had sufficient patience to remove it before dropping said tool onto the POS?

Unfortunately not. In actual fact I first threw said Discman at the wall in a temper and forgot to take the CD out.

I soon realised this error which only served to infuriate me even more hence reaching for the sledgehammer.

The Pug may have 4 15" items in the back on the way to Combe, but they will be wheels not speakers don't you worry!

I have now acquired myself a new stereo system for the garage, for the princely sum of £5.19 I have purchased an oldish Technics system from ebay-


It is quite large and bloody heavy, and initial testing (carried out at 11pm so relatively quietly) suggests that it will probably turn out to be bloody loud!

Still its a Technics and bloody good quality.
