Hi,
I seem to remember someone saying they turned the calipers upside down or something to get the air out....... Where's the bleed nipple(s) ?
Cheers,
Gavin :)

oh yes, the first porous set leaked fluid all over my wheels and wrecked the the paint

i wanted a refund, but they wouldnt give me one, just a new set of calipers when i sent mine back, something stupid like 8 months later i got another set out of them and a £50 credit to my account for the damage to my car

i fitted the new set and they wouldnt bleed (these were the new style cnc ones) it turns out after much effort trying to contact minspares and pointing out something was wrong, there was infact a problem with the nipple seats

again something stupid like 4 months later a new set came through, but i couldnt be assed to put put such a piece of crap on my car that i didnt trust, so i gave them to my mate in exchange for an engine and box in bits and a bit of fabrication

i havent used them since, however the other month i went to use my £50 credit to buy a subframe and there was no record of it.......

f-ing jokers

oh and i forgot to say, there seems to be a rather clever on hold system at mini spares when you ring up to complain

you either get put on hold for ages

or you get put on hold for ages, then your call gets dropped

on the KAD stuff I have, they came full of fluid with a little tested label on the side, suggests they pressure test them before they ship.

the minispares calipers are good i recon but they are a bit of a pain to bleed i know!
if you let the pistons in them come out further by taking the pads out and using a thiner spacer and force them back in and it should push a pocket of air out thats behind the piston, or somthing like that.
i found the pedal to be crap when i used green stuff pads, but they seem good with black stuff.

cheers

RTFM Jimster - you have to work the bleed nipples to form a proper seat - otherwise send em back......

Wolfie - I've m/spares ones on mine - as Peter mentioned pressure bleed is the only way - I use one of those cheap ones that you attach to a "spare" tyre at low psi - works every time as it puts a good 1/2 litre through the system quickly and under control.

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

On the 2 sets of 4 pots ive had from minispares (think i bought one set from jim on here) bleeding has been fine.

And the ones i got from jim had greenstuff pads and they were the best brakes ive ever had (dont tell turbo dave! LOL)
