My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

Well it seems my clutch is unable to handle my engines new found power. Last night it was seriously slipping running 1bar or so of boost
I'm currently running a grey diaphragm with the AP rally/race plate. This setup has been on for the last 3years, and i know that once the plate starts to wear it loses a lot of the clamping force.

So should i fit a new plate and hope this will make enough difference ?
Fit a paddle plate ? Will this take much more torque over the rally/race plate ?
Or use a double grey and rally/race plate ?

I'm trying to steer away from the paddle plate, as i've seen how bad my mates is to use on the road. But i don't really like the idea of the double grey pulling like hell on the thrusts ?

Your invaluable opinions welcome. *smiley*

Hello Phil,

Didn't realise you had your own site, it looks wicked btw*happy*

I might be telling you how to suck eggs but, Turbodave recons on machining the backplate lugs down to 23.5mm in length instead of 25.4mm,

This might up the clamping load enough to stick with the grey, and stick in a new rally/race plate ? if your taking the fw of anyways

Cheers

If you are determined that you really don't want to go to either a double grey or a paddle, then it seems you need to try out a new race/rally plate and see how you get on.......

Yeah lug heights are machined cheers Brocky.

Think i'm just going to stick another plate in it and see how it goes, might as well try this as it's the cheapest option anyway.

Cheers

If theres a way of testing the diaprams clamping force that would be an idea while its all out, i had an orange diapram without turbo and that went a little soft after 6000 miles and caused some clutch slip.

What plate has your mate got?

Minispares have 2 paddle plates, and the one I have I think would be fine on the road, it's very progressive. We were struggling with thw AP rally plate, but this one has been fine.

This is the one we have

I have the top one, like wil, found it much better, and cheaper than the AP plate.
