Soaking them in petrol does usually kill them and the NGK's seem particually bad for this. Maybe it is just too rich at idle and the choke just makes this worse? Try the champion plugs, much better. There is a long sparkplug thread somewhere, search NGK and Champion. I would dig is out but I'm supposed to be working :) I now only use the champion (cossie?) plugs. Despite what I read on the highpower N20 board, they seem better on nitrous as well.

pete , have you got a code for these plugs you use,i'm getting pissed off with wetting NGK plugs all day long, and are they expensive, tell me more!.

Champion C57's are the ones to use for majority of our engines - everythign from mild to wild. I'd only switch to C59's if running an extreme engine.

If you use the search function Carl, you'll see i was raving about these plugs many, many years ago compared to NGK pieces of crap... *wink*

Side electrode - but with a 'partially exposed' (don't know the correct terminology) centre core...

Hi,
NGK all the way I'm running 7s or 8s with a weber 45, no problems here.
I'm not known for an overactive service schedule either!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I've also seen problems with NGK's failing. Champion ones every time for the last 4 years and no problems.
