I am finally about to start on my turbo engine (he says after a year of looking at it and finding other things to do) and I've decided to try to do it right this time (my last attempt at engine building is best referred to as a learning experience)

To that extent I’ve created the attached sheet on which to record all my tolerances. The plan is to fill in two sheets one when stripping the engine down to see what needs machining, and one when putting it back together to check that every thing is with tolerance.

Anyway if anyone wants to use my sheets feel free also if there’s anything I’ve missed off let me know, however this is intended to be at the beginner end of engine building and not a blue print sheet for race engine builders.

Rob

PS. Does anyone how to either post word files or convert them to jpegs? I had lots of fun trying to work out how to up load the sheet (ended up printing it and scanning it back in)

Hi,
The easiest is the upload it on to your webspace, assuming your ISP gave you some and then put a link to it here. Thats what I do with files, pics, avatars etc.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I don't know about any programs to convert.

All i do is maximise the screen settings (right click on desktop, propeties, settings tab, and move the 'screen resoltion' bar all the way to the right, ok). Now go back into word, make the thing the appropriate size using the % to get everything on the screen. Then hit 'printscreen' and paste into an imaging program (paste as new image) and hit save.
Go back and change your screen resolution to the original settings, and jobs a goodun - it'll be a nice big image, probably larger than an A4 print.
