Not A series but mini related..*wink*

Would the same cam(s) that work for a turbo'd engine work on a supercharged one, or just better to use the NA cam with a small reduction in CR?

I'm thinking that the versions of boosted engine need different things because of the way that boost is created, or is all boost going in the same, no matter how its made?

Anyone suggest some good sites/books on supercharging principles?

Supercharging is quite simple and reasonably cheap with all the BMW chargers on the market. Just bought a second one with delivery mileage for £140

I already know of vmax, my brothers got one of the first kits!
The BMW charger is too small for the engine in my mini as well.
Thinking more about it i'm guessing a NA cam with a lower CR is a good starting point.

Maybe if you'd given more infomation you'd get a better answer!
How was I to know your brother had a charger already.
And you've not said what engine you've got

Okay fair point, but i did say NOT 'A' series so the Vmax kits not going to much use is it? for those that dont know its a 2 litre 16v XE, but i'm not asking about my application more any situation apart from the A series. The beauty of the twin cam is the chance to have a specific cam for both inlet and exhaust (mix and match different types) with the ease of changing it without removing the engine.

Hi,
You will still want a longer duration on the exhaust cam to get the extra gases out.
However, keeping the overlap period short won't be as critical as it would with the back pressure from a turbo.
With the 16V you can near enough set the overlap yourself with some vernier pulleys!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Using a vauxhall LET exhaust cam and an XE inlet cam with the inlet retarded one tooth on the cam belt works very well indeed*wink*

I have a friend running a supercharged c20LET but in a calibra 4x4. He has used the XE inlet and a let exhaust cam in his as well. For his charger he has used a vortech charger running about 16psi boost. Not seen it working but all the stuff was recommended by SBD developements in Surbiton, Surrey who so i understand are the gurus of vauxhall stuff!!!

No not an LET a simple mildly tuned SEH in a mk2 cav as my daily driver.
Ive made my way through a few variations of tuned vauxhall engines in various cars so they would be more my area of knowledge,
im new to turbo minis (but not to minis)
