I doubt nobody on here has used one in a turbo engine. I do however remember caver in one of the mini mag's saying that years ago three blokes put a stage 3 head uprated cam etc on one and it proved to be reliable.

From the about information about 80ish bhp. However as the turbo puts out loads of torque I think you would be approching the limits on a standard turbo lump.

All the above however is pure guess work, if nobody has done it i suppose the only thing is to try it.

An auto would be great for drag racing !!!!

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

shane , i stuck a c4 auto in the v8 , ran it through a clutch rather than a torque converter , i reckon it was worth around half a second over the jag 4 speed i was using ,in the 1/4 mile . if you can increase the oil pressure to the clutches and bands ,which should be fairly straight forward , then i think it would be well worth a try ,as steve says ,particularly on the 1/4 mile.

I took an auto out for a test drive, when I was looking for a run around, was really supprised how nippy it was for a stock 998, also liked the idea of 1st and 2nd you could use like a manual. REALLY gettin ideas I shouldnt now! spent loads of cash trying to get big bhp out of my 998 (with out using forced draft) and now thinking could go down that route again but turbo auto!! the minus Im hopefuylly collecting tomorrow is auto with full recon engine and box. could be a solid stating point? But on the other hand would like the mini to have around the 130 banana mark, recently sold my r5gtt daily drive (to fund the turbo mini) and really enjoy the 130 hp it was running.
