stowmaket suffolk

is the engine you have in there a 1275 if it is then i would just turbo that one and run 8psi with a intercooler or get the head modded and crank the power a bit more.

that engine would be in a better state of health than the turbo lump.

then you could rebuild the turbo lump with better bits and bobs your uncle.

ps any advice or bits you want doing me and miniwilliams live in ipswich and stowmarket.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

If you decide to drop a complete turbo motor in and need to shift the N/A one, my bro is after one for his 998.

Ive pretty much dicided on a spec now, stripped my turbo lump down and it dosent need any rebores/crank grinding so im going to leave the bottom end fairly stock, just going to do a center main strap for it. (maybe wedge the crank?)
Phase 2 cam and a ported head with the stock valves. T3 with intercooling, decent exhaust (maniflow??) Pre-verto clutch, orange diagphram and race plate (cant stand slippy clutchs).

Im wondering if its worth going for straight cut box /drops and 4 pin diff

8.5:1 compression?

Oil squirters worth it?

1.5 rockers worth it with that cam or is it a waste of time?

any thing ive missed? (i have full machine/engine recon shop at my disposal btw.)

Will be keeping the interior, no question!

personally wouldn't bother with the wedging, it's really only for high rev's, but if you can do it for free then that's a different matter i supose..

also the 1.5's arn't recomended with the phase2.

the diff is a good idea, this is the weakest part of the box, followed by the drops i belive.

I have a bit of a theory regarding oil squirters, some recomend them and some say they arn't needed, IIRC turbodave said why then do most production NA cars have them?

I think it's possible that they are put on modern NA cars so on short runs (ie the school run) the oil is got up to temp by the underside of the pistons.

Looks good. You're a bit ahead of me, but my gearbox is ready, albeit missing a diff!

Good work*smiley*, what are your plans for the interior ?

I must admit the custom wheels and the ride hiegh look cool as.
*smiley*

Its almost tempting to drag the old metro turbo shell out of the barn but it will probably need work on every panel lol

BTW - I took my buddy VTEC Pete out for a spin this weekend, and even though I am running her in, he gave it a name, the "Brocket"...cause I'm a brocket maaannn, nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah....
