That explains what Calver was on about yesterday when I emailed him about a cam:

"If you want some serious performance though - you need an RE13 on 112 LCA! Had some blistering results with this cam in 1300 motors! 244bhp/178lb ft torque, at 16psi boost!"

See how he has three injectors mounted way back up the inlet!

Maybe lots of power at full chat but will it be driveable?

I wonder if it will take WOT at 1500 rpm?

Matt, I'm not getting confused at all - but folklore seems to have got out of hand on this one.

The owner was Ian Alenzark and ows a comapny in NSW in OZ call Zaks Carbs, real nice guy, i visitied him not so long ago in Alstonville and he did write it off in a drag race, he said once it did run a 13.6 but he believes it not a tru reading even he said it was not that quick, he did run mid 13s often though.

it was an oz made 850 MK1 with a turbo T25 not a metro setup though all custome but blow through the metro turb carb.
it was very light and deseamed body and gtters, i have the article at hoem if you would like a copy of it?

http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.ph...er=asc&start=30

Yes the tinternet is full of them.

I believe 250 or so is possible(for a while!!)

i'd be very interested to know a rough spec of this engine.

I have 218 bannanas and do a quarter mile in 13.074 @ 108mph.

Just for the record.

any chance of a look at your graph from the dyno run jon ?
regards robert.

as an aside , what about a part of the site for graphs and engine build data for those that want to show that sort of stuff ,and with the freedom to show as much or as little of our designs as we like , id be happy to stick up the 3.5 psi chart for my mini .watjareckon ??

I also think 250 is possible but not at 16psi boost - that's all I was saying.

I bet you are running 20-25 psi for 218hp.

I'll also reference this if we're going to be scrutinised on another site (hello guys :) )...

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.p...id=119591&fr=25

Incidentally - I'm all for the great development work that i saw in those pics; and I agree / acknowledge that EFI will release more power than a carb - assuming of course that the injectors are releasing the fuel at the right time to ensure equal mixture distribution...

I AM saying - and will happilly stand by this from my limited experience of turbocharged engines - that 16psi on a siamesed head 1300 engine will struggle to make that power.

One thing is clear - everything in those pictures looks well on the way to a seriously big power engine... A little more boost is needed though :)

Gotta agrre with Dave. I don't know everything, have never claimed to and certainly know a lot less than many people on here.
But i've been around long enough to know what's required to deliver those types of figures, and if they can do it on 16psi then i guess Jesus is alive and well and operating an engine dyno. *wink*

Axel, around 21psi.

As far as a graph, my RR operator does not do them, just a great service always gaining extra BHP out of the engine.
