My XP laptop has "Windows Movie Maker" on it, this is plenty good enough to do the things you describe, e.g. fade in out, add music and titles etc.

I heard adobe do a good one... BTW - I took my buddy VTEC Pete out for a spin this weekend, and even though I am running her in, he gave it a name, the "Brocket"...cause I'm a brocket maaannn, nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah....

i found adobes pretty complicated until u get use to it! but sony vegas is similar but abit more simpler!

No offence, but I loathe Premiere, it's a very capable bit of software, but it take a lot of getting used to.

I use pinnacle with ok results i think, i've also got premiere waiting to go on when i free up some space, i used the XP movie maker at work recently and tbh though it was as good as pinnacle for what i needed.
Here for the craic..
