I have a used set in good condition. They are still on the conrods as removing them will damage them.

I would suggested fitting new rings as a matter of course, but you will need to as one is cracked and if you are using a used 1275 block have the bores deglazed.

Minispares stock standard 1275 turbo ring sets about 50-60 quid.

PM me if interested.

BTW - I took my buddy VTEC Pete out for a spin this weekend, and even though I am running her in, he gave it a name, the "Brocket"...cause I'm a brocket maaannn, nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah....

Seems to be something wrong with my pm I can't seem to reply to your pm's

Anyway,

I have been cleaning the pistons up and noticed that one of the pistons is a bit dodgy. just assumed they were all ok...
3 are very good but the top of the crown of one of them is a marked, but the sides of the crowns are fine.

Are you planning on machining the pistons down to drop the cr to run higher boost ?

If so they would be suitable for this as this would remove the damaged surface.

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=4605

I know morespeed do this with the pistons still on the rods for £ 40 a set.

If not I’m quite happy to keep them and do it myself.

Sorry if this not what you wanted to hear, but this would be a cheapish way to get lower cr and usable pistons.

If you are still interested I can take some photos

Looks like Vegard was right ..lol

Cheers

Brocky.

your right not wat i wanted to hear, my original plan was to use the standard metty turo pistons and mod the head to lower the cr.
if any one could give me advice on the best route to take, it would be a great help.
ideally i want a cr dwn to 8.4.1 as recommended to me, so how much would need to be taken from the pistons?

thinking about it depending on the severity of the mark would this cause a problem due to it being on top of the pistons its self?

Why don't you just do that then. Use the original turbo pistons, and mod the head.

A picure of marks may help.

BTW it is seriously not an issue if you don't want the pistons.
I think they would be fine to machine down, but would not be to sure about using them with out removing the damage

I will try and get a clearer picture, if you just want to leave it, its not a problem.*smiley*

PS thats carbon in the middle of the dish the dinks are around the edge of the crown but the sides are fine more photos to follow
