Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

yes just use the back box only

as a turbo is a rotary muffler

Hi,
You'd be better off with a Play Mini or Maniflow system as they're a 2" system which fits straight on and less back pressure too!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I have always run the Play Mini exhaust on turbos since they have been available. Great build quality, loverly fit and a nice sound too.

I normally run a twin box system though on a road car (low boost, driven every day) as that with 2 layers of the standard Rover sound deadening and the car is really quiet.

No I haven't gone soft before anybody asks, I put 22,000 miles on one in a year commuting in it so for 4 hours+ a day, most days you need it quiet and comfortable.

For a track weapon I'd go single box though...

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Not for the build I am doing now.

My last car did loads of miles on standard drops and gear set, just very well screwed together and never screwed over!!

Don't get me wrong, for my own car on it's rebuild it'll have all the right bits on to handle big power but then that is just a weekend weapon, show queen and track toy. It doesn't have to be good at any of them either as my misses car is going to be built for show-n-shine, I've a quick Mk1 Golf cab that'll be weakend transport and a seven esq kit to track.
Basically I have no real reason for building the Mini for me ..... but it's there and they're so much fun!!!

my mates into his vdubs and has a mk1, hes now looking for a mk1 gti 1.6.

back to the subject, sort of..

am i right in thinking that turbo cars in general have a quiet exahust sound due to the turbo?

what would you think is going to be louder,
998 with 1 3/4" maniflow system (stright through single, back box)

or

1293 turbo with T2 (if that makes any differnce) with the turbo maniflow system on?

cheers

Turbo's are quieter, hence why they say "single silencer exhaust for turbo'd cars only".

But the sound of a turbo is soooo much sweeter and you also get the high pitch wistling of the turbo which can't be replaced by "inhanced" engine noise from an N/A engine. *wink*

I love the noise of a spooling turbo. Not sure my other half will.

Her car is meant to be a "daily driver" to replace a Golf Gti 16v so I am looking to get that sort of power to weight but also refinement.

I have run a single box Play Mini system on a 1380 NA road legal trackday car ..... sounded loverly .... shame the police didn't agree!!

Hi,
I found I lost a fair bit of torque when I put the Play Mini system on the N/A 1380 after the RC40.
But I wasn't going to buy another 40 when the turbo should be going on soon!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Hi,
For the extra £40 for the stainless system, I'd go for it. You'll never need to buy another......

Gavin :)
