I breaks my heart but for many reasons i have to sell my unfinished project, mainly due to lack of time, space and running 2 other A series turbos.

The car did belong to our very own SUMPNUT on this website.

The shell is spot on, i will not say no rust as it is after all a 18 year old mini.

Sumpnut, Dan, spent all his hard earnt pennys replacing panels and respraying it in British Racing Green.

The shell spec is roughly...(i will add more later)

De badged Racing Green(F 1989)
12 inch minilihts
Yoko 539 165's
Spax shocks
SPI tank with internal fuel pump
Braided brake lines
Modded turrbo bulkhead
Wood and picket arches in BRG
Cooper 7 slat grill
Aston type filler cap(lockable)
Cooper seats and door cards
Stainless bumpers
All the same key for the locks(RARE!)

The engine is brand new, never been run.
I built with professonal help at Morspeed Coalville workshop, every thing has been chemically cleaned. Choosing the best componants to hand the workings were carefully machined and modified by myself under the watchfull eye at Simon at MSPD.
Going plus 60 thou was chosen for of boost torque with good road manners in mind.

The Engine spec..

1330cc, plus 60 thou overbore.
Pistons(new) machined to give a 13cc dish(8.3CR)
RS turbo escort S2 intercooler
New Maniflow downpipe(NEW!)
Correct Turbo dizzy/cap/leads
Alloy rocker cover
A plus rods lightened and balanced to Miglia spec
A plus crank wedged/bladed,polished and balanced
Block chemically cleaned, bored, honed and fitted with al new core plugs.
MG Metro Cam(one of the best turbo cams)
Bailey DV and modded plenum.
New Duplex gears and chain
New followers
New big end/main and cam Bearing
Block faced to leave the pistons flush
T3 turbo complete with everything.
Carb and inlet manifold
All ancillaries like the alternator, starter, water pumps/pulleys are all there.

Head...

Fully ported on the inlet and exhaust ports
Same spec chambers as my MOT 977L
Perfectly matched to the gasket
36/29 valves
New Bronze guides
Double valve springs
New valve stem seals

Gearbox and flywheel...

Straight cut drop gears
A plus box rebuilt
New gearings where necessary
New baulk rings fitted
3.1 ratio final drive
New centre oil pick up pipe
Lighten flywheel(balanced on crank)
Orange diaphram(Pre verto set up ofcourse)
Bronze paddle plate
Correct ring gear for pre engaged start fitted.

I think that just about covers it.

READ BELOW!!!

The engine is out if the car and needs fitting although everything is there(well maybe 99%) to complete the job.

I will endevour to supply everything you need to complet the project and give personal techical advice to the buyer if required.

I am reluctant to split the engine and car but we will see how it goes.

I am looking for offers for the complete outfit for around £2500. The engine/box would cost £2000 alone to have built.

****NOTE*****

Tom Fenton has just contacted me offering to fit the engine and do all the plumbing to complete the install. The cost is to be agreed between the buyer and Tom. Tom's work is second to none and well worth the reasonable rates he charges. You would get the job done properly unlike if you put it in a garage to be done.

I will advertise it on TM for a week before going elsewhere.

I NEED THE SPACE!!!

See what i mean!

Nearly rang you about this last week... weird.

If you still have it on the 9th i'll chat to you about it then.

Should sell no probs, nice looking car and sounds like a cracking engine.

2500??
You certainly need that space!
I think the shell alone could go over the 2500 here.
hope it will end in good hands, it'll care slighlty your hearth

What kind of power were you looking for out of this engine jon?

Was it built for reliability?

Have PM'd you.

The boring bloke who runs this place.

Berkshire

I'd guesstimate slightly more than 145? it's a bigger bore, and slightly higher spec than my engine, and mine made 142@12psi!
