Any reason why i cant use one of the stepper valves as fitted to most multipoint injection Rovers in an injection turbo application or will i have to resort to the throttle stepper *oh well* ?

Thanks

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

If an ecu can control it, dont see why not. A stepper valve should offer better control.

I was thinking about this...

Is there any chance you can do some research and see what ISCV rover used on the last of the Rover 800 /600 turbo's - basically the dizzyless ones, as these had the closest MEMS system to the MPi mini...
Basically - I'm wondering if the 'dizzyless' rover turbo's used the same ISCV as the MPi's...

:)

never seen one myself but can say with about 95% cartaintly they do indeed use the same motors as the MPi minis. jsut about every rover running any verion of mems uses the same idle motor(all have the same 5-pin electrical connector), allbeit in different housings depending on application.

Research already done mate*wink*

The late 600/800 turbos namely 95 onwards still use the throttle stepper motor attatched to the throttle body.

The only reason im asking this is that this throttle body is like 58mm. I need to get this down but still want to keep the idle control the same kind of configuration to the Rovers, however that is, valve or motor. The connector plugs are the same and both work the same.

Looking at the 48mm ally TB with the valve, which, incidently you can get in unipolar, a la MPi Mini or bipolar item off, i think the honda engines so suits the aftermarket ecu's

Check out item # 290056166312 on ebay. Bought one myself a couple of weeks ago for my Emerald ecu equipped turbo FI setup and it works a treat. Standard 5 pin Rover type, Minispares sell them for over a 100 quid....
