Spent an afternoon in the barn and made a lot of progress with the 998 turbo build.

Relatively standard bottom end, balanced, steel main strap and Mega pistons.

All dressed up and nowhere to go:

Nowhere to go as I'm not putting it in the car until we have some sort of EFI.

Trouble is, it does not actually fit! Just sitting there to block the hole at the moment, but needs fettling.

Yep, flat topped.

Using a standard 12G295 head with 28.3cc chambers. This gives a CR of approx. 9:1 which should be OK for about 12 psi boost with a good intercooler.

Are you setup to bench test the new siamese-port MS code? I'll be ready to do some more testing soon but I need as much help as possible in that area. So if you still plan on using MS for your EFI and you can do some bench testing that would be great.

Jean,

I can't do the bench testing, but I've got the N/A 1275 in the car ready to do the real testing when it's ready.

I still need to put the high pressure fuel system in and fit the Megasquirt, but I have all the parts.

I've got an MPi, two injector setup to start with. If that works then I'll fabricate a four injector manifold and put the 998 turbo in.

It's too big on the diameter that fits in the block, only by a nats cock though, so should fettle with a bastard file and sledge hammer.

Hi Axel
Question about the centre main strap.
What bolts are you using?
Are they Metric M10 Fine?

Just made a strap myself so need to buy the longer bolts

The a series should be an all imperial engine. They are 3/8" UNF, which is remarkably similar to m10 x 1 but not the same.

That looks nice! I look forward to see the results.

Do you have some kind of heat shield for the turbo so that the injectors and fuel rail don't get exposed to too much heat?

Not yet, but I'll sort something out.

The inlet is going on my NA 1275 in the next few weeks to try out your code.
