Can anyone tell me the effect of fitting a supercharger which is bigger than the generally accepted size?
I am talking Eaton from a Bini on to a 998cc A series specifically, but a general answer would be fine.
I realise many people have done the conversion on 1275/1380's and it works well.
Has anyone installed this particular blower on the front of the engine? A few pictures would be good if you have (please) it will save me from re inventing the wheel.
Regards
Dave

Try this:

You will need to calculate pressure ratio and air flow from your required boost, then plot on the map below to work out the speed required.

Thanks Axel & Blown Imp, The links and info are great.
What I really wanted to know was what effect effect there would be on the driveability of the car.
If I were to fit a larger than optimum blower on a 998 what would the drawbacks be?

This is an educated guess. Assuming that you selected the correct pulleys to get boost at a reasonable RPM, I would have thought that drievability could on the face of it seem ok.

However, you will be running the SC in a low efficiency part of the map meaning more heat, more energy to run etc. This will ultimately limit the power capabilities of the engine, and if it's really bad, result in a melted engine.

As said I guessed this, is it about right?

Im using a blower on my 930cc imp, as far as i have calculated the eaton M45 seems fine for this capacity.

Its in the lower capacity range but if you look at this map -

Its seems to be in a pretty good efficiency area.
