As the title really!!! megajolt/megasquirt which type would be the best choice for my 998 turbo build, which version as there seems to be a few types knocking around, v2 v3 tps map etc etc i'd prefer to go the non dizzy route due to thinking it may be easier to get the engine running at its optimum more so than with a dizzy, any help & opinions on what choice to make, cheers

Hi,
You want a MAP version of either. Are you looking to try fuel injection at a later date? If so go for the Squirt, if not Jolt will do.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

i'm sticking with my carb to be honest! i think the metty turbo SU is going to give me enough for what i need, so i'll need megajolt MAP version, i can get all the ford eidis gear easy enough, i just need a trigger wheel too, if there are other bits i've 4got let me know, i think i may do the same conversion on my dads 1340 too, is it easy enough to get the car running, i'll be honest i'm a lil edgy about it, should i be, how long would you say i could have my engine running by once i've fitted my motor up with the bits n bobs

Hi,
Tom's your man for the trigger wheel. It'll run with just the EDIS gear on, it has a set timing of 10 degrees when the MJ isn't connected.
So it'll run straight away *wink*
Rolling road is the best bet to get it mapped to your particular setup, but someones elses will get you fairly close....
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Defo MAP for the turbo engine, NA will get devided opinions on TPS Vs MAP. I personally run all my NA motors Alpha-N (using a TPS) but then again they are all throttle per cylinder jobs so the MAP signal isn't great.
If your running the standard single SU MAP will work fine

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Hi,
Experience is the best way to learn, for a NA motor you can map it yourself driving it up the road, just take it back a bit if it pinks *wink* Stick to the standard dizzy curve on full throttle though.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

megajolt!! ive got mine and im well happy with it. Get a pre-built one i think alex F and britishopenclassic are both making them for similar prices. get a trigger wheel and sensor bracket from tom fenton im really impressed with how good mine it.

It made it so easy for me, everything just bolted together with no messing about.
