It seems to be a good spec, the average sort of price a standard turbo engine would go for is anthing from 400 to 800 quid on the bay!

If it were me, would want to see some receipts for things, or go and have a look in person before commiting, as you could never tell just from looking at it what 'box /drops or piston etc its got!

What sort of info were you after?

if its got all them bits fitted, and they are decent quality stuff and its all in hunky dorey condition then yeah its worth it. BUT how can you tell the condition of the engine and box whilst its sat on the floor you cant so imho its a £700 gamble, are you willing to take the gamble.

if the seller will let you take it to pieces then its less of a gamble

unless somebody can vouch for this person?

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

No, he didn't set a reserve at the beginning, he can't add one now. Auctions are legally binding. If it sold for a fiver and he "wanted" a £1k reserve, he'd HAVE TO sel for a fiver.

On another note please enlighten me as to what a " STRAIGHT CUT ROD REVERSE IDLER GEAR" is.

or is he just describing a standard reverase gear?
