hi, i want to fit my front windows out with polycarbonate windows but want them to open but be at least as secure as the glass type as the car is my daily driver, i have the sheeting & i'm in the process of making my rear and rear side windows, i'd love to doe the doors too what can i do??? If you try and have them opening like glass windows you will scratch them badly. You could try and cover them in some kind of protective film. You could also try and make your own small sliding panel in the window like racers have but im guessing you'd want your windows to be open fully. Another idea might be to make the window completely removable, but not sure how this could be done keeping good security. |

i dont mind the windows having opening parts like on some of the race cars aslong as a i can make it secure, to be honest minis are'nt that hard to get into & if some yoke is going to put the glass through they'd just do it, aslong as i can get it as secure as a standard window i'd be happy

Forget security in the classic sense. Get it into your mind that you have a soft top with the roof down all the time.

i think i've come up with a half decent idea to make the mk1 slidey window conversion work in regards to security!

If they are made to look standard then they should be just as secure, as no one will know any different!
