About 2 hours to lash it in and make it work, then however long it takes you to tidy it up, mount things, make brackets, tape the loom up etc etc etc

So basically, a MAP unit could be used on an NA engine if you haven't got the turbo on yet (with a suitable map of course)? I have all the kit but just got the MG Metro engine in at the moment. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

modding the pulley is fine as the scatter will only be very minor and only under the more extreme conditions where you'll probably be playing a little safe with the map to keep it all together.

right i've been having a squizz, looking at my options & i think a bolt-on/weld-on trigger wheel that fits to mine is my option with the standard 998 pulley wheel, what you reckon chaps? i dont have a damper type & dont really want to buy one, is this route ok to take? cheers chaps SKYLINES ARE LIKE CLITS, EVERY FLANGE SEEMS TO HAVE ONE: see this sticker on my silvia

The std 998 pulley is a solid pressed steel thing with no form of damping and nothing to machine a trigger into.

I have had those come apart as they are only riveted together and not the strongest things in the world. It would be a shame to set everything up with one of those and have it fail (I'm not saying it will). I know Minispares sells new 1275 ones that are what most use for MJ etc. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

998 Metros use a pulley with a damper that can be machined. I'm using one on mine. Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."
