Just been thinking of my options, I know its possible to run carbs N/A, but has anyone tried carbs with a turbo yet?

As far as I understand its not possible to run direct injection, but to just inject into the manifold, is this correct?

Found a really handy site refering to turbo'd bikes that seem to be getting big power and seem to be able to run reasonable boost aswell!

not direct as such, wrong choice of words! lol!

but very easy to use what you get with the head to inject with a single throttle body on the end of a plenum.

So its its similar injection setup to what the Golf Gti's use then, well sounds it! Lol

Hmmm, still tempted to go carb route, I know where I stand more with them!

its honestly not worth it!

you should get pretty much all the bits you need with a K head barr a plenum and decent sized single throttle body.

Its the route i'm going with my 16v head for sure.

Problem will be finding some carbs that are turbo suitable, spacing them etc.

I'd say injection (barr the software majic!) is a lot easier on a K head than carbs. NA its 50/50, although the K head comes with throttle bodies the lot for running them.

think JohnK just sells stub stacks and filters and your away.

Are you planning on a turbo or N/A setup Iain?

From looking at that bike website the carbs can be "pressurized", so within reason most bike carbs could be used!

They have used an R1's carbs as an example, and running 0.9bar with a 9.3:1 CR, im guessing that its the CR thats the limiting factor not the carb in this scenario!

I'll have to have a peak at other setups to see what the injection side of things envolves. Cheers for the info Iain.

Yea link worked, remember seeing that now, looks really good! :)

How maany carbs are you using, as a mate of mine has 4 carbs on his bike and recons they go out of tune all the time?

On the carb, did you just run a pipe from the plenum to top of the diaphram and on to the breathers to adapt it?

its a twin matty ,so two carbs , and with the feed to the carbs yes plenum to top of diaphragm ,and float bowl from a dynamic feed before the intercooler.
