Hi,
The problem will be your now drawing the hot air from the radiator across the intercooler.
That'll probably heat up the charge air instead of cooling it!
In the 'sandwich' setup the intercooler is always first to 'see' the cool air with the rad behind it.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

i would put it in front as it will be getting cool air rather than hoter air as its just gone throught the hot cores of the rad.

any pics of what you have planned?

edit, bat beat me to it LOL

no no pics josh
just scheming
i was thinking of having the rad out front with electric fan/s on its front and the intercooler and oil cooler behind it,to save space and give the i/c and o/c the benefit of having the fan to cool them at low speeds but evidentely it wont work
oh well it was a though though

Hi,
There's nothing stopping you putting the fans on the front of the intercooler with the rad behind. There's a kit like this for Escort RS Turbos....

In Triumphs they always mounted the oil cooler in front of the Rad, Its Important not to leave any space between the two because the turbulant air in the space can case problems, probably no room for a space in a mini but good advice if you go that way..

hmm thats a good idea bat but an I/C is infinetley more expensive than an old skoda rad i got for free
ill have to think carefully about it cos the slightest bump and the I/C is ruined

You could do a similar setup to an R5 with the rad on one side and the cooler next to it?

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

Lake District

I use the Minispares 2 core. 16psi and no probs. Plenty of others run more boost with side rads. Just look at MW. *smiley*
