I am in the process of welding together an exhaust for the metro, and was wondering if anyone had made there own exhausts. I was thinking of putting a flexible piece in at the bottom of the downpipe, to take the place of where the ball is on a standard exhaust. Just in the hope that it will last for a bit longer.

Flexible sections are common place in some modern cars. Try to fit it so that it only has to deal with movement in one axis.

Yeah thats exactly the type of flexi that i was looking for, just need to find the same in the uk now.... I think that it will look a bit better with this type of joint rather than just the flexible hose. |
