Ive never seen any valves as carbonised as this and even with some gentle scraping it still won't budge?

I know what your saying but TBH mate, not sure if that will touch them, the carbon is really hard and will pobably rip the wet and Dry before cleaning.

Get an old hack saw blade and cut it square. Use the flat edge to scrap of the worse of it then swap to the wet and dry. |

Even if you get the carbon off you'll need to have the valve's seat ground. Have them bead blasted and ground professionally. Just hacking that carbon off, and installing them back in the head is just plain stupid.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

try the swarfega degreaser you can get in halfords in 5-litre bottles. i left some valves to soak in it over a few nights and it chewed the carbon right off, had same problem as you! turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)
