Promised to post a pic of the new shell before everything goes in so here it is. Oh before you ask the fule pipe is the return only (feed still to be fitted. Note the additional brace welded laterally across the bulkhead box (my idea) which adds some weight but increases safety in my view. The view is through into the inner sheell (all interior removed).

The hole allows access to the plenum mounting from inside the car but I'm not sure if I should weld a plate across and fill the bulkhead in entirely. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

i would weld a plate across definatly!!!

fumes etc and the noise would be mad as its noisy enough without any soundproofing!

also if oil decided to come out of the engine in a spectacular way as it can be known to!
then you would get a bit oily i would think lol

No sound proofing? Why not? Easy to fit and makes the world of difference (although slightly less so with a turbo as the air filter is a away)

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

maybe fit a sheet of metal with some screws and have a bit of rubber to go round it to seal it? this way you could get to the back of it ok? just an idea.

Third that opinion Josh, Ive got a small gap above my old webber box, it can get a bit fumey sat in traffic sometimes, especially when you knock the exhaust on the ever increasing speed bumps and the damn downpipe starts to leak!

Hi,
You want your engine bay compleatly sealed of from the cab. Carbon monoxide makes you sleepy! Not good on a long journey...

Gavin :)

Personally id blank up that hole and by a rachet spanner to do the plenum bolts

Nice idea though, it all looks very tidy

You could always make a removable pannel which is bolted in, just make sure you seal it when you put it on, thats another idea.

Thanks for all the compliments and tips guys. I'll definately put in a removable sealed panel. The colour is as used by Seat as a special order on the Cupra. I have the full paint code on a tin somehwere in the garage. I'll post it if anyone's interested.
