is it worth changing plain ones to the ones of a

grooved, drilled, vented (in any particular order, doesnt have to be all 3) variety?

A grooved disc will clean the pad of any glaze, which can help braking if they tend to get very hot.
Other than that no.
Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Hi,
I can't believe no one has mentioned the obvious huge weight saving by cutting grooves and holes in the disks.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Bat ..... are you mad ..... look how much heavier vented ones are and the amount of air in them ..... must be heavy stuff air ... LOL

I like grooved disks if I am going for anything on a road car as they are less aggressive on the pads than drilled .... but I have found drilled to be more effective at keeping the pads deglazed and the gasses away from the braking surface.

Vented disks are of use if you are having problems with fade but would probably not fit them as a matter of course for a road car. 4 pot calipers however are a must IMHO ..... manily due to the increased pad area.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

I felt that my grooved discs lasted a little longer, but they are supposed to be a higher spec material aswell so who knows. I would love some four pots but I can't get them behind my reverse rims that easily. I don't fancy using a 9mm spacer to be honest.
