Hi one and all,

Is there a smaller (meaning physical size not power rating) alternator that fits, maybe somthing off another car or some comman conversion. Just seeing how much space i can make for front mounted rad.
Thanks
Alex

search for jap alternator, nippon, denso, swift, charade etc on this site theres loads on it. Small alternators came in swifts, charades and possibly daewoo matiz. They will all require some kind of bracket making up probably, but not difficult to make good i think.

Hi,
The MPi has an idler pulley where the original alternator was and the alternator is bolted to the head.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Ha ha ha, as wrong as it may sound every time I am out driving at present and see a BMW motorbike, I look to see if it is a K100/1100 one, and then it it is I have had ideas about knocking the rider off it with 2 tonnes of Audi to get the engine.......... *happy*

Theres a huge breakers in pease pottage, near crawley / gatwick. They have a workshop full of alternators. Once i was in there and saw a matiz one, looked very new for £35. Any southerners, its well worth a look or a call to see if they have any. Says they do mail order too.
