Hi,
I'd go for DOT4 as 5 is usually the silicone stuff that apparently doesn't work to well with older type seals.
If I'm talking crap someone shoot me down....
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Hi,
That's what I'm saying, DON'T use silicone brake fluid. As far as I know most DOT 5 IS silicone. Therefore use 4 or 5.1.
If you read the label on the bottle in that link it says DOT 5 silicone brake fluid.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Don't spill Dot 5 on your paint work ..... the silcone will render it near impossible to touch up!!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Hi,
Never thought about that Roger. If you manage to get the paint to stay on, it won't look pretty!

not that you would probably be bothered, but so you guys know, the higher the dot rating = more flamable the liquid is, i have some awesome vids of stolen cars going up as a result of fluid leaking onto hot manifolds :)

kinda ironic that the higher dot is for higher op temps, but is more flamable?

useless info but thought i would share it.

Be aware that silicone any ordinary fluids dont mix.

I use AP600 for brakes and silicone for the clutch.

The silicone is much better on seals. It has better lube qualities and much better if you do not use your car for long periods.
