if i were to sell my engine would it make more sence/money to sell all the bits seperately or sell it as one unit?

considering fitting a non a series engine thats all.

I don't agree in the case of high power turbo engines.

Hi,
I'm sure you'd get more money leaving it in one piece and in the car until sold. Then you can take prospective customers for a run up the road so they know what they're getting.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Hi,
That's shot that down in flames then! What's the spec / what you got? Someone may want to see what they're gettting and so would want it in kit form.
Someone else who wouldn't build an engine themsleves would want it in one piece....
Cheers,
Gavin :)

bored out block to 1293 with 18cc accrlite pistons.
phase 2 cam.
center main strap.
adjustable duplex vernier cam gears.
1.3 roller rockers.
minispares 4 pin diff.
straight cut drops and gears.
megajolt.

not decided yet just toying with ideas.
only things need doing are syncros (crunchies from 3rd to 2nd)

Hi,
I'd bung some syncro's in the box, drop the engine on top, just leave the head off for inpsection, maybe throw in a head gasket set? Then they can see what they're getting, fit the head when they get home and drop it in....

Gavin :)

Hi,
Benross ... I thought 167 banannas didn't seemed low for 20 psi. Didn't think about the head! I bet a nicely flowed exhaust elbow would help too *wink*

have you still got the intercooler setup with all the pipes for that? If you decided to split, i'm very interested in those.

Good luck with the sale. :)

i like that but im thinking more of 4efte(starlet turbo) very popular in australia.

ive just bought a bini (booo) for the missus (well me really) so ive got her toyota paseo surplus to requirements now they dont really sell for much so im thinking of breaking it up using the 1.5cc engine in my mini, now this engine is nothing spectackular (89bhp) but sits in the same mounts (by all accounts) as a starlet turbo. so now yo can see where im going with this cant you. fit the 1.5 engine for now then in the future fit the starlet turbo which will plop straight in. or its possible to turbo the other engine.

i know its not a mini without an a series argument but im thinking it makes more sense to fit a decent modern engine?

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.
