picked up my new turbo last night and wondered if anyone could identify it? The chap said its a T25, brand new from garret but i've no idea what car for (he got it off a mate who worked in the industry).

the numbers i can find on it are:
inlet: A/R .48
exhaust: A/R .35
other numers on the exhaust side are, M-26 and PT-1. there's no plate with a serial on or anything. Its not water cooled either, just oil. the elbow is a 5 bolt one.

It's going on my car pretty much regardless anyway, but i just wanted to try and find out out of curiosity really and to see if i can find a comp map to see how it looks.

mmmmmmm, really wish i hadn't had to sell the mirage setup but at least its gone to a good home with another member on here :)

Interesting - the drain looks like a T25, but I've never heard of a T25 with a 0.35 turbine?

It could be off a Montestro TD?

Not a monestro turbo unit .... I have one of those and that's not it. For interest IIRC the Monestro TD unit is 466770 for a serial number .... I posted a thread on here a while back to see if anybody had the map.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Take off the compressor, measure the OD, and diameter of the inducer, and that'll tell you pretty much all you need to know.

They're the same A/Rs as an R5 GT T2, so seems like a reasonable punt.

This GT15 has the same A/Rs,

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarre...48_466755_3.htm

worth checking some measurements, being as the GT15 is based on the T2/25.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

the montego TD one doesnt have the T25 style 2 bolt oil drain, it has the large pipe with a conical seat and nut type thingy.

this isn't a 2 bolt oil drain, its the same as keans turbo, which we think is a T25 aswell. sounds like what you're describing iain?

took off the comp housing today to measure and rotate it aswell. the inducers 50mm wide at the base and tapers to 40mm at the end, roughly measured with a tape measure cos we couldn't find the verniers. Does that make it any good? and how do i figure out the trim of it from that?

Ah, well - it LOOKED like a two-bolt drain LOL!

50mm ish from a tape measure is worthless TBH

GT series: 49.0mm or 52.0mm

T2: 48.0mm

T25: 52.0 -52.20mm or 54.0-54.3mm

I suggest you buy a caliper...

right it's 51.43mm at the bottom and 38.11mm at the top (not sure on the correct terms)

Another annoying thing with it is the oil feed thread size...it's not 7/16"x24. its really close but its knackering the thread on the banjo, will go in about 3 turns then gets past finger tight. tighten it with a spanner and it starts ruining the thread. Any idea's on what it could be?

I bought 2 new banjo's from think auto and both are the same, they fit perfectly in 2 other T2/25's that we've got but not this one :(

*edit* the thread in the turbo housing is fine so it's not that thats fooked.

ok, I was wrong. I've found several refernces to a 51.4mm diameter wheel.

They are all listed as TB25 turbo's - so you have a T25 series compressor; but in the later GT-series packaging LOL.

I'd start with the one Wil suggested. Banjo bolts for these should be easy to find - I think it's the 'metric' standard brake fitting size.

You might need to tweak your banjo union size a little to fit a 12mm (instead of 11.1mm) diameter thread through!

i'll give think auto a ring tomorrow and get a couple of banjo's on order and hopefully have a play at the weekend. cheers dave :)

As Fab says - the 0,35 turbine is unusual on a T25, although I did find a few references to the wheel and compressor AR used on a JohnDeere, so maybe here is a part we know nothing about.

Are there any part numbers on the housings?
