What do we think of this folks?

Its a BMW E46 intercooler, phsically its about the same length as a cozzy inter cooler but a bit taller and a bit thinner.

Hi,
Core looks the same as a cossie one, so you shouldn't go far wrong.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

looks thinner and longer, so potentially more restrictive, but better cooling....

Although I'd guess its capacity would be big enough for a Mini ?

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Ok this is echoing what i was thinking, thanks guys,

My main concern was that the turbulators in the core didn't look that dense, but as the cooler is so long maybe they need to be less dense so the cooler isn't too restrictive.

I'll measure the core lter and work out just how big the flow area is, although i don't expect it to be too small, the coller is pretty big!

In fact it nearly takes up the whole of the front grille, or will with end caps.

The plan is, if i can trim enough of the front panel and move the grill forward about 1/2" it should squeeze in infront of the starter and just miss the alternator.... fingers crossed!!

I agree, though the external turbulators look fairly restrictive, especially as you wont be using this with a fan right?
..Imagining an array of computer fans, lol.

ohh blast from the past. lol

cooler seems to be holding up well.

when it was running at about a 10-15 psi in the summer I didnt see IAT temps much over 30 degrees.

in the winter at 4-6 psi ive been seeing from -1 to +5
