Hi,
Lightened S rockers be they.
EDIT: They need solid spacers between the rockers to stop them wandering off the vale tip *wink*
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Hi,
I used Vizards book. "Forged S rockers, strong but inconsistent in ratio". 1.2 to 1.3 ish, nothing definate listed for those, they may have offset bushes fitted too.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Solid spacers? Why? They don't need that more than any other rockers.

Ratio 1,22:1ish.

oh PLOP

i thought they were 1.5 ratio and fitted some nice roller rockers today instead of these
Ran ok but i noticed the valves were opening much more than before ...
Broke the springs that hold the oil control seals in place ......
I guess it must have a pretty larey cam in there ( engine unknown spec ! )

Was lucky i didnt damage anything else ....

Hi,
Vegard ... From the look of the picture the tips of the rockers are a lot narrower, so if they move about they'll come off the top of the valve.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Why? The rocker should be positioned just over the valve stem anyway.

What you need is shims between the rocker and rocker post, not spacers between the rockers.

thats why i fit mine at about 13.5 mm and 14.2 for the guides that will stop the top caps hitting the seals.

Sorry to bump this one up again .... but my rocker nightmare is imense

But is there anyway that these can be something other than lightened Coopers Rockers with a ratio of 1.3 ?

I was told that they were 1.5

If you look at the very first picture in this post you can (assuming the picture is at 90 degs) measure the rocker ratio.
Looks greater than 1.22:1 to me. Having said that all the visual clues suggest the are S rockers.
B12, why not measure the ratio on your rockers and then you will know
Regards
Dave

Hey danboy thanks for you reply ;
How do you measure the ratio ?
I have simply no idea how to do this !!

Distance between center of the ball end on adjuster to center of rocker shaft. Call this dimension A
Distance between center of rocker shaft and contact point of rocker pad and valve. (If the rockers are used the centre of the wear area on the pad is the point to measure from) Call this dimension B.
B/A = rocker ratio
Hope you can understand this, if not let me know and I will try harder
Regards
Dave

They may have had offset bushes fitted at some point to increase the ratio .... it is possible.

Is this on Stuart's old Mk1?

If so I was believe they are forged 'S' rockers ratio around 1.3:1, alledgedly the forged were slightly higher ratio than pressed or sintered.

Read this again :)

It seems as old S-rockers are the worst of the worst, and I've heard this not only from Calver.
Get new S-rockers, these are better.
