Being new to intercoolers i have a quick question.

I know theres a million variables to take into account but for a very ballpark figure what bhp gains would you see when fitting a cossie 4wd intercooler to say a stanard 1275 metro turbo engine?

Just by fitting the intercooler, virtually nothing.

By fitting the intercooler, turning the boost up, and having the fuelling sorted out, potentially 110bhp or so.

Should be able to run more advance with the IC fitted too.
Then it leads to a MJ, then a head, then .... LOL

LOL Istarted looking at that just after I had finished building mine! Mabee an option when it goes bang!

What do you gain from an intercooler

Engine life (cooler charge = less chance of det')
Potential to turn up the boost (more boost = more power for nearly free!!!)
Something to talk about in the pub ... should you ever finish installing it and get chance to go to the pub!!!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

all the above roger but more power for the same boost, because! the air charge temps are more denser

Thanks for all the info!. I think ill keep to a 1293 turbo @ present lo. Wedding next year so sadly mini funding is limited

God am I destined to have no money for the rest of my life, too many thing I wanna do to the mini (not even finished building it yet lol!)
