Applyed for tax online sunday my herritage shelled mini, only drive her 6months of the year (april till sept) the disk turned up yesterday, I finished work a little early so thought i would throw a little charge in the battery and take her out as the missus is on call tonight.
So off I went on a spririted 30 mile drive up the road to the city, biggest grin on my face, then nature called, so pulled into a Maccy D's for quicky stop, came trotting out to the car, jumped in, turned the key and nothing, battery totally dead! So there is muggins sat in maccy D's facing the windows sidde off the building having to try and push start the car much to everyone watchings amusement!
Lucky for me she went on the first bump so not too embarasing. So carry on my bimble round the city, admiring the ladies then headed out for the nite (and no I dont mean the ladies of the night!!! lol) heading home again very spirited, (and a little fun with an espace) she starts spitting and spluttering, cleared untill I got two roads away from home and she was coughing and bumpin all the way back, stopped the car to get out and open the garage, started her again and she was fine, could trace anything obvious. So now going to take some time off from the turbo build to give her a little tlc this weekend.
But that aside, I had a cracking evening, didint realise how much I missed driving her, and the sound of the a series full chat!

She has been stood for 6 months, and the battery was only thrown on the charger for 45mins befors I stuck it on and jumped her off the fiesta, the alternator charges, there was life in her when I got her home, the battery is still under waranty so might just change it as a matter of course, it was more the spluttering that has worried me, will try and take her out tomorrow, and see how she behaves.

Could be caused by low battery voltage, the spark gets weaker as the voltage drops.

i had mine out yesterday and today, and absoliutely loved it. Its true you forget what it drives like!!! and im sure my dump valve was never that loud!!! turned alot of heads today

i was enjoying the sun in the err clio today-saw a young lad in a regular clio going for it, so............

over took 2 cars and reeled him in, over took him, round a lovely corner-my wheels squeeling jon f style and pulled out a massive gap on him

Personally I find driving round the outside of chavs in Corsas on roundabouts in 2 ton of Audi Estate is also quite amusing........

Lmao @Tom! The mini is only a 60bhp 998cc and I loved driving it hard, found a huge amount of enthusiasm now to crack on with the turbo now!

the sun is good! all the chavs come out and play!

there was some banger of a fiesta full of chavs waiting to round the rondabout, they were all looking at my mini and laghing so i thought to my self you wait! pulled away and just went round the outside of them like they wernt moving! my mate who was with me said they looked so funny when i just wnet past! thats in the stage1 998 with the suspension sorted!

hope you get it sorted shane, try the battery first as you said, and go from there.

Found a loose wire on the coil, and now about to get her out of the garage, so we will see if she is cured? (hope so, could do without any headaches from her this year, wanna get on with the turbo!!)
