Hi, i know this has prob been asked before. I have a standard turbo engine and want to fit a dump valve. I know i need to mod the plenum. and get a vacuum off the inlet. Also i need a non-recurculating one for more noise?

basically i want quite a loudish dump valve. What dump valve would you lot recommend to buy?

Thanks in advance.

James.

A grp A one should do the trick.

Its what i've always used, a Forge item.

Hi,
This is the Group A one...

There's a tuning kit for it with different springs, had it running on 25psi for years no problem. The filter is a good idea to as a fair bit of air gets sucked in on light throttle.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

i've got the one without the filter and its been fine on 2 cars, maybe 3 now.

The diapraghm is very easy to replace should it become holed. infact mine came with a spare.

The Forge stuff is very good quality.

The only problem is getting in touch with them!!! I have never had them answer the phone, called round 4 times and there has been nobody there any time and even though a member of my local Mini club works for them I've still not ever had any joy getting bits.

I guess that is why I have always used Bailey valves even though Forge are justup the road from me!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Should have stated that if you can get hold of the kit it's well worth buying.

Quite a few people have had problems with the Baileys piston ones too though, with the seals swelling with fuel contamination and the piston sticking open.

Fit a Kevlar diaphragm if you have problems with the stock one splitting. I've had the same Kevlar one in mine for about 5 years now, no probs. *smiley*
