alright.
been doing some thinking out here on the subject of if i should go down the water injection route or not. anyone using/previously used any types ect ect?? are there any real gains or not.
bearing in mind i'm pushing out 20psi and dont want to kill it just yet!!!!!!!!!

your thoughts???

As with most things the answer is yes and no,

With a blower water injection will increase the efficiency due to the water helping to seal the blower lobes, plus it will help to cool the charge a tiny bit too.

on the other hand a good intercooler will work better, but is harder to sort, also water needs topping up constantly.

Personallly with your install i'd do it, I'd look for a 1 bar pressure switch to trigger a water pump and squirt some water in after the carb and before the blower.

Would a charge cooler be easier on a blower setup than an intercooler? Purely for plumbing reasons.

hmmm. i can easily find somewhere to plumb in the w i sytem betwee the carb and blower. plus, i might be able to use the megajolt system as the pressure switch too. i would of used an intercooler, exept i really, really dont have any room between the blower and engine!

I was up at Vmax a while ago and saw their chargecooler setup, basically its some copper tubes in a plate between the charger and manifold, not very big but apparently enough to take the edge off the temps.

Trouble is with a suck through setup you can't really have an intercooler...

yeah thats my problem and i havent got any room between the blower and manifold. it really is all a tight squeeze!
i think the water injection way might be good. have to do some pricing up!!!

I did run it and still have the injector somewhere in the garage, I felt it was more of a gain to run an intercooler.

ERL I used, I found their customer service very good, that was a few years ago mind..

i dont think i need an intercooler tbh. due to the volume of air being sucked on boost, the air gets so cold it freezes the manifold pipe up. a lot of the v max kits have this too. now i know it isnt good to have this because it means the pipe isnt big enough, but, it also means the air is quickly cooled, before entering the blower, thus dropping the temp. same effect as an intercooler basically, but in effect using a long venturi. or am i talking bollocks???

Hi,
I see what you're saying, I guess the best thing to do is put a temp sensor between the blower and engine and hook it to your mj to see what's going on. You could also use it to trigger the WI, say over 30 degrees C.

first thing i'd do is stick a IAT gauge in. just a cheap tim water one or something ill give a good indication.

i run a charge cooler and i was running an intercooler and water injection.

all in a van and with a standard van front panel.

i run megajolt not squirt, but there is way to control an output from it so could use that! just need injector and pumps really!
