Hi Guys, Just taken my head off as my car has been leaking water from the head gasket.

This happened to me about two months ago, except that time the gasket went from a waterway into the cylinder.

What do you think might be causing this?

I have taken some pics.

Does it always go in the same place?
Silly question, but was it torqued down properly?

Thanks for the quick replys.

Coolant was good, as I had only replaced all of the water and oil 3 months ago when it last went.

Last time it went on the opposite end.

I could have been a tourque issue, I suppose I will only find out once I get it back together.

Hi,
Are the studs any good?
If they're stretching too much when you torque it down, or afterwards you'll be loosing the clamping pressure.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

AHHH don't mention cambelts!!

just had to do the belt on my old bids 106, which was fine until the waterpump decided it was going to piss water 5 mins after i finished...*oh well*

plus while i'm doing that the wshing machine decided it was about to seize solid...

and to top it all i dropped an allen key down the dizzy hole on my mini while i was pressure testing the 7 port manifold....

after all it was about 8pm last night so i thought sod cooking, i'll get a takeaway, they managed to cock the order up and then take an hour and half to deliver it due to their delivery car packing up...

all in all yesterday was a pretty wanky day,*indifferent*
