hi. trying to diagnose my minis smoking problem. Doesnt seem to smoke on tick over but give it a few revs and it chuffs out a light blue almost white ish smoke. Also when turbo comes on boost it chucks it out and also does so if you let off after. It recently had new rings and valve stems have been done. Hoping its not the rings again and its turbo. Any advice much appreciated. thanks |

White ish smoke.....try a compression test first before anything....

also did the headgasket on thursday. still smoking help. |

possibly the oil seals on the turbo ? Edited by Richie on 15th Apr, 2007.

possibly oil pressure related??? "Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun"

new ones from avonbar are circa 300, or u can hedge ure bets and get a used one, but it is kinda russian roulette seond hand....unless u get one from a trusted user at this fine forum

Got another turbo in me garage so will change it over on thursday and try that. hope its that dont wanna have to get another rebuild on the engine |
